An Army soldier who was injured on Tuesday in an initial exchange of fire with militants in Laam village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district succumbed to his injuries, sources said.
Several gunshots were heard earlier in the village injuring the Army soldier who was shifted to hospital where he succumbed, they said. Reports said that Army operation in the forest area was underway during which helicopters were also used to locate the militants.
Earlier Army launched a search operation in Laam area after input about the presence of militants.
